MCR stands with PNR #4

November 11, 2017 @ 12:00 - 15:00

On Saturday 11th November there will be another chance to show your solidarity with the campaign against fracking at Preston New Road. There will be a coach provided from Manchester. We will be holding a rally at Maple farm followed by a protest outside the fracking site.

We want this to be a solidarity day with a focus on trades unions and climate jobs, but of course we want to encourage everyone to come and bring their families, friends, colleagues, neighbours, dogs… Activists from across the North West are especially invited to join us.

Local activists at Preston New Road have been an inspiration, protesting at the site continuously since January. The trip is a chance to swell their numbers for the day, and to show solidarity from across the North West. Cuadrilla are way behind schedule and have not yet started fracking; and that resistance is growing both at PNR and at Kirby Misperton in Yorkshire. Fracking has been banned in Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and we in England do not want filthy, climate destroying fracking either!

Transport Details:

The coach will be leaving from Chorlton Street in Central Manchester at 10:00. The coach will then leave from Maple Farm to return to Manchester at 15:30. The rally will be at 12:00. Coach prices at £10 waged and £5 unwaged. If anyone is able to donate more on the day to cover the cost of the coach then this would be very helpful.
