Press release: Barton Moss Camp given until 26th March to submit appeal

sunriseThe Court of Appeal have given Barton Moss Protectors until the 26th March to submit all their evidence for their appeal against eviction by Peel Holdings. Only after that will they set a date for the oral hearing.

This result means there is a good chance the camp will still be there when Igas’ delayed test drilling is completed at the beginning of April.

The Barton Moss Protectors wish to thank Ugo Hayter from Leigh Day Solicitors and Lindsay Johnson from Doughty Street Chambers who have been working on a pro bono basis.

Martin Porter of FFGM said

“This is really good news. The camp was never going to last forever, and may now come to a natural end when this stage of operations finishes at Barton Moss.

“The Protectors have been sustained through the winter by local people and have in turn inspired the local community. It is now Igas facing eviction from Barton Moss in the court of public opinion.
