Press Release: Anti-fracking campaigners to rally as PM speaks at Conservative Party Confernece

ANTI-FRACKING CAMPAIGNERS TO RALLY AS PM SPEAKS AT CONSERVATIVE PARTY CONFERENCE
Anti-fracking campaigners from Frack Free Greater Manchester, Frack Free Lancashire, Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and other groups, including veterans of the campaign at Barton Moss, are to rally outside the Conservative Party Conference on Wednesday as the Prime Minister gives his conference closing speech.
The protest starts at 12PM on Wednesday 7th October. Friends of the Earth will be bringing their giant puppet Mr Frackhead and Greenpeace will bring Sami the polar bear.
The campaigners will be calling on the government to ban fracking and promote solar power.
Martin Porter of Frack Free Greater Manchester said “Conservatives aren’t generally as concerned as they should be about climate change, but they could be worried when fracking leads to big falls in house prices and big lorries on country roads. If shale gas goes ahead it won’t just be polar bears that are in trouble, the northern Tory could become an endangered species.”
