Supporters of the camp at Barton Moss are expected at the site at 9AM tomorrow, Friday 21st February, to support the Protection Camp.
Peel Holdings, who own the land the camp is on as well as the land used by Igas for their test drilling site, are due in court to start eviction proceedings. The case is expected to be adjourned.
Martin Porter of Frack Free Greater Manchester said “It appears to be getting quite personal between the police and some of the camp, with same officers targeting the same Protectors day after day. Tomorrow it will be the turn of those of us who can’t be there every day, those of us with work and family commitments, to do our bit by leading the ‘slow walk’ in front of the Igas lorries. As Barton Moss Lane has now been ruled to be a Public Footpath we expect the police to let us do this.”
